Chaplains in the Park

PA Council of Churches, Chaplains in the Parks is seeking individuals to fill our Part-time and Full-time Chaplain slots for Summer 2018.  Chaplains need only be a Christian with a heart for serving God who want to bring worship services, provide a listening ear and visit with people from different religious traditions. Students, retired, laity and clergy are all welcome to apply.  


As the Pennsylvania Council of Churches prepares for its 58th season of Ecumenical Christian Witness among campers in Pennsylvania’s Parks, we are asking for your assistance again.


Would you please post the attached materials about summer campground ministry in PA?  Please encourage all that you feel are best qualified to serve in this ministry.  We provide a stipend of $2750 for Part-time and $4790 for Full-time Chaplains plus travel and other expenses.  We also offer the opportunity to exercise and develop skills in worship, preaching, pastoral care, time management and theological reflections.


Candidates need to:

  • Be available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend 2018

  • Have a valid Driver’s license

  • Have an automobile

  • Be able to pass PA State Police, Childline and FBI Fingerprinting Background Checks
