God of joy, fill our heart with good things.

Rosemary Etzle passed away. She was 83. 

She’s the grandmother of Pastor Joshua Wargo.

Pastor Al and Peggy Horst celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 7.

Pastor Donna Hildebrand son got married on May 7.

Ms. Emily Shover, daughter of Rev. Mark R. Shover is graduating from Messiah College on May 13, 2017. Emily is relocating to Rhode Island and begins new work there.

Shelby Salisbury graduated this Saturday, May 13 from Syracuse University as Summa Cum Laude. She's the daughter of Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury, District Superintendent. In addition, the granddaugher of Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury, District Superintendent Johanna Salisbury (daughter of Rev. Stephen Salisbury) celebrated her preschool graduation and her birthday this Friday, May 12.

Ms. Amber Reedy, daughter of Pastor Andrew Ervin graduated this Saturday, May 6 from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Theater.  She has been accepted to Nazarene Theological College in Manchester, England. Amber celebrate her birthday on May 6.  In addition, Ms. Hannah Ervin will be turning 19 on May 15th.  Pastor Andrew will be leaving for Kenya and Uganda for a two-week Training and Leadership Development tour with Sunday School Teachers and Pastors.

Rev. Miguel Arenas and Pamela were married in a required civil ceremony in Chile on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.  As part of the Chilean tradition, after the civil wedding, there is a blessing of the wedding in the church.  The Christian blessing ceremony will be held at Fourth United Methodist Church in York, PA on Saturday, May 27, 2017.  Rev. Miguel and Pamela have a daughter, Francisca.





Robert J. Marsh was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He is married to Amy Teeter; is the father of Danielle, Alicia, and Aaron; and is the step-father of Lauren and Jared. Robert graduated from Boiling Springs High School, Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Eastern University and Wesley Theological Seminary. Robert is recommended by the former Grace UMC, Carlisle, Harrisburg District, and currently serves First UMC, Greencastle, York District.

Joshua S. Wargo was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania. He is married to Whitney. Joshua graduated from Misericordia University, Dallas, Pennsylvania, and Wesley Theological Seminary. Joshua is recommended by Dorranceton UMC, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre District, and currently serves Rouzerville Charge, York District.


Miguel H. Arenas was born in Curanilahue, Chile, South America. He recently married Pamela, and is the father of Francisca. He graduated from Mercedes Fritis Mackenney High School, Copiapó, Chile, and is a graduate of Concepcion University, Chile, and Wesley Theological Seminary. Miguel is recommended by Christ UMC, Waynesboro, York District, and currently serves Fourth UMC, York, York District.

Rachel Elizabeth Keller Wong was born in Emigsville, Pennsylvania. She is married to Richard Wong. Rachel graduated from Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Eastern University and Wesley Theological Seminary. Rachel is recommended by Camp Hill UMC, Harrisburg District, and currently serves Park Avenue UMC, Chambersburg, York District. 



Starting January 1, 2017, each annual conference of the United Methodist Church will take a week of praying our way forward
on behalf of the whole church.

The Harrisburg Senators and Susquehanna Conference Camp & Retreat Ministries
On Sunday, April 23rd the Harrisburg Senators and Susquehanna Conference Camp & Retreat Ministries are inviting the congregations from the conference to a United Methodist afternoon at the Harrisburg Senators. 
TIME: The game begins at 1:30 pm and the gates open at12:30 pm. 
COST: Tickets for the game are $10 and $3 from each ticket sold will be donated toward the Camp Scholarship Fund. 

CP3 Fun, Faith and Friends

A fun, well-rounded camp experience featuring: faith, sports, art, music, fishing, writing, outdoor exploration and lots more.

Join our half-week adventure, packed with hiking, swimming, climbing wall, archery, field games, river tubing and campfires. During Family Group time, explore your relationship with new friends, God, and the world through devotions, lessons and Bible study designed to help you become a faith-filled, joyful young Christian. 
Be creative with crafts and a talent show, enjoy movie night with popcorn and snow cones, and look for fossils in the shale pit on our way to Cathedral Meadows for outdoor worship and communion.

MA2 Growing in Faith 
Mother and Daughter Camp
July 6-9    Ages 8-12
Experience the great activities of church camp alongside your daughter during this 3 night/4 day event. We will explore how Jesus would have us transform our focus from "self" to "service". Our time will be a combination of exploring how Jesus served, how others serve us and how we are called to serve. 
A one-day service project will be shared.

WF2 Fishing Adventure
June 11-16     
Grades 4-7

JULY 3-28, 2017 



York City Day Camp, a Christian-based camp program, is preparing for the 2017, 4-week summer camp for children entering grades 1 through 6.  Children will meet at Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 N Beaver Street in North York.  

The vision of the camp is to share Jesus with children from York City and beyond while providing a structured and nurturing environment for 8 hours each weekday beginning July 3 through 28, 2017.  

The goals of the day camp are to develop a Christian community among the campers, to experience weekly field trips to community parks and public places for recreation and to learn life skills that will serve them throughout their lives.


An Open House and Fry Bread fundraiser will be held at Messiah UMC at 1300 North Beaver St. on Friday, May 19th from 4-7:00 pm.  


Campers are under the direction of Lena Cordero, paid director and assistants who are also certified school teachers. Volunteer counselors complete the staff and are trained and supervised by the director.   

Registration materials may also be accessed through the Messiah UMC website beginning May 1st

For registration or camp information, please contact Messiah UMC at 717-843-4574 during business hours Monday- Thursday 8:30-2:30 PM.  *Campers may register for one or all weeks of camp.  

Summer Camp

The Shepherd’s Staff located at Fourth UMC, 20 N. Lehman St. York, PA 17403 is accepting registrations for summer camp. We offer a ten week program that will run from Monday, June 5th thru Friday, August 11th. Our camp is designed for children entering first grade thru 12 years of age. Camp hours are between 9:00am and 4:00pm. We also offer before and after hours for those who need them. Our campers enjoy weekly themes, crafts, field trips and more.

Early Learning Center

The Shepherd’s Staff Early Learning Center located at Fourth UMC, 20 N. Lehman St. York, PA 17403 has openings for new students. We are a Christian based center and teach from a structured curriculum designed to improve children’s social skills and self-esteem. Age appropriate material is used to encourage school readiness.

We are open Monday thru Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm and you can drop off at any time. We are accepting children 6 weeks old thru Pre-K. We offer 3, 4 or 5 full-time days and operate all year long.
